Deposition
This Deposition catalogue was published by Green Pebble to coincide with the installation of the two altarpiece paintings made by de Freston for the 500th Anniversary of the consecration of Christ’s College Chapel. The publication includes essays on de Freston’s work by Sir Nicholas Serota, The Hon. Rowan Williams, Graham Howes, Ruth Padel and Jaya Savige, plus an interview with de Freston by Pablo de Orellana.
De Freston’s solution is a powerful and original one: it is (put very simply) to juxtapose a passive and an active image in a physical medium that seems to be like deep water.
