Poor Tom is an ongoing project developed by Tom de Freston as part of his Creative Fellowship at University of Birmingham. It centres around a remaining of Shakespeare Poor Tom (from King Lear) in a series of paintings, films and installations. It has involved collaborating with Professor Simon Palfrey, film maker Mark Jones and various academics and practitioners at University of Birmingham. It has resulted in exhibitions at the RSC, Battersea Arts Centre and The Bodleian Library, along with partnerships with The British Council, the Omani Royal Fine Arts Society and the above named institutions.
